The local studentsare admitted to the undergraduate studies through a central admission systemand freely on an equal and competitive opportunity basis. Candidates forundergraduate studies must have completed the secondary school/scientificbranch with high grades depending on the college. In addition to the grade ofgraduation, high grade is required in three subjects; Biology, Chemistry andPhysics.

Beforeadmission and commencement of studies, the concerned colleges conductindividual interviews with the prospective students.

Allundergraduate and postgraduate studies are free of charge for the localstudents who are admitted through the central admission. The university alsoprovides accommodations for students coming from outside Erbil city. It alsoprovides financial assistance to students in form of monthly stipends.

Each yeararound 10% of the local students are admitted through the parallel system thatinvolves tuition fees. Foreign students are welcomed to study at the universityand participate in our academic learning experience through the parallel system.
