Nazareth College
About
Nazareth College - commonly referred to as just “Naz” by students and faculty - is a private college with just under 3,000 students. Based in the state of New York, Naz offers over 60 undergraduate majors as well as 24 graduate programs - roughly a quarter of its students are postgraduates.
The campus has evolved since Nazareth College first opened its doors in 1924, with today’s students benefiting from a newly-opened, multi-use sports facility, a state-of-the-art music performance center, and a multi-purpose center for math and science. Intriguingly, many of the campus buildings are linked by underground tunnels, which allow students and staff members to move from one building to another and avoid the cold weather New York often experiences in the winter.
Four core schools make up Nazareth College: College of Arts and Sciences; School of Education; School of Health and Human Sciences; and School of Business and Leadership.
Community engagement is an important aspect of life at Nazareth College and an incredible 95 percent of its students participate in some form of community service. A campus ministry program helps connect students with volunteer organizations, while the college’s Center for Civi Engagement also provides resources for interested students. In addition, 60 percent of the college’s alumni are also reported to engage in community service.
