About
One of South Korea’s oldest modern universities, PaiChai University is based in the Seo District of Daejeon, the fifth largest metropolitan area in the country. Founded by a Methodist missionary from the United States, the university currently teaches approximately 14,000 students.
Teaching is offered in the following subject areas at both undergraduate and graduate level: Humanities, Foreign Studies, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Tourism Management, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Performing Inter-Media Arts, and Fine Arts.
Daejeon is best known for its ideal central location, making it a perfect transport hub for the rest of South Korea. The capital city of Seoul is less than an hour away by train. The city has also become known as South Korea’s answer to Silicon Valley and is home to several vital research institutes.
Approximately 1.5 million people live here, with just 1.2 percent of that number registered as residents of a foreign nationality.
