Located in the historic village of Geneseo in the upstate Finger Lakes region, short drive from Rochester and Buffalo. The campus embodies the traditions of northeastern colleges with its brick walkways, shade trees and flourishing ivy. The most selective of the SUNY institutions, Geneseo is highly ranked in national publications for academic quality and value. Within the sciences, Geneseo is among the nation’s top producers of bachelor’s degrees in physics, according to the American Institute of Physics. Student activities include NCAA Division III athletics (2005 national championship in women’s cross-country); 160 student organizations (including 11 student multicultural groups); an active student government; community service opportunities; and a variety of distinguished speakers and cultural events each year.
