Universidad de Playa Ancha

Playa Ancha University, located in the city of Valparaíso in Chile, has a specialist focus on teaching in education and educational sciences. First established in 1948, the university enrolls over 10,000 students across its two campuses. As well as the campus in Valparaíso, the university also has buildings in San Felipe.

Teaching is currently spread across the following faculties: Arts, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Physical Activity and Sport, and Social Sciences. Approximately 36 different academic programs are available across these eight areas of teaching.

A major city and seaport, Valparaíso is the second largest metropolitan area in Chile, so there’s plenty to see and do should you decide to come and study here. The city also has a rich history and is home to Latin America’s oldest stock exchange and the oldest Spanish language newspaper still in continuous publication around the world. The city aims to be cycle-friendly, while funicular railways enable residents to access the more mountainous surrounding areas.
