Located at the intersection of business, government, and international relations, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business develops principled leaders with a global mindset to be in service to business and society. Guided by that purpose, we are a business school that produces knowledge and educates leaders to address the most significant challenges and opportunities facing business and society today. Established in 1789, Georgetown is the nation's oldest Catholic and Jesuit university. Georgetown was founded on the Jesuit principles of equality, respect, and cura personalis, or education of the whole person, and those same values define the school today. Georgetown McDonough’s rigorous academic program is supported by a strong culture that encourages students to collaborate, forge close friendships, and extend their learning outside of the classroom and beyond campus. A diverse group of students have the opportunity to join or lead many campus organizations, to hear from leading business leaders and policy makers who visit campus, and to pursue service opportunities. Because much of the business school curriculum focuses on cohorts and experiential learning, students have multiple opportunities to collaborate while working in small groups and studying overseas. They are encouraged to support one another in exploring new goals and achieving them.
