The current educational project of UEFS, put emphasys on the production and sharing of knowledge in such a way that it contributes to social and economic development.The whole educational project takes into consideration ongoing social and technological changes in society, which require the education of graduates both as professionals and citizens prepared for the challenges of the 21st Century. The educational profile built over this assumption, aims to tackle the main transformations of our society:a) an increasing globalization of the economies and cultures, shaping new ways of production and labor organization as well as new and more intense relations among peoples and nations;b) the continuous advances in democratization of society and the need for citizens with greater responsability and participation in decision making processes;c) an indispensable environmental responsability;d) the appearance of new technologies which fastly transform our habits, requiring new learnings and knowledge by means of a less specialized, more generalized and enduring initial education, with the development of habilities on learning how to learn.This educational view guides the work of the administration and the offices of undergraduate programs in managing 27 undergraduate majors and 7302 enrolled students.
